Ductless manufactures have succeeded in making standard central air conditioners obsolete in comparison to the ductless technology. Ductless heat pumps (also referred to as Mini Split Systems) have become increasingly popular for many reasons. For starters they are easy to retrofit them in existing homes, which is important for most homes here in Connecticut. They have also made them small, compact, super quiet, and super efficient. If you don't like to see the unit mounted on the wall then check out the concealed ducted units.
Ductless units are very efficient to operate for heating and air conditioning. They have similar abilities to save money on heating costs compared to a pellet stove but they have the benefits of being powered by electricity so there is no need to stock pile wood pellets just to save money on heating costs. The current models available will heat reliably down to -15 or lower! There are so efficient that the State of CT has offered incentives for qualifying homeowners that replace their existing heat with a ductless heat pump.
